Steve Whisnant is happily married and the father of three daughters.  He began writing in 1997.  His first novel, Department of Corrections (D.O.C.), won several contests.  Award-winning journalist Mara Leveritt, author of The Boys on the Tracks and Devil’s Knot, read D.O.C. and said she was “impressed” and “This will be quite an eye-opener for your readers.”  Since 2000, Steve has won or placed in 56 contests for his short stories, and published a collection of them in early 2005 through SkyMacSyd Publishing entitled Yesterday Again.  His work has been featured in several magazines, newspapers, and websites.
