The members of Ozarks Writers League (OWL) recognize that the OBookstandzarks is a unique geographical area possessing a distinct cultural heritage.  Being aware that time and circumstances are rapidly affecting that geography and changing that culture, members of OWL desire, through their efforts as writers, photographers and artists, to preserve a record of its past and to record and document the present for the future.

The purpose of OWL is to bring into closer relationship the writers, photographers and artists of the Ozarks for mutual inspiration, information and amusement.

 

EMBLEM:  A great horned owl, rampant, clutching a quill and paint brush in its talons. 

 

 

BYLAWS:  The original OWL bylaws were written in May 1985, revised in 1991 and amended in 1999. A new set of bylaws required by the state for our not for profit status were written and approved by the board in 2006, they are posted on the bylaws page, link is at the bottom of each page.

PLACE OF BUSINESS:   Taney County, Missouri. 

MAILING ADDRESS:  OWL, P.O. Box 1433,Branson, MO  65615-1433

MEETINGS:  Plaster Auditorium on the campus of the College of the Ozarks, the third Saturday of the months of February, May, August and November.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS: The business affairs of OWL are governed and managed by an eleven-member Board of Directors, which consists of the: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and those who hold the offices in the preceding year.  In addition to the League Officers there are three appointed members:  a Membership Chair, Publicity Chair and Grants Chair.  OWL maintains a newsletter and a website, with an editor for each.

ANNUAL DUES:  Due each January, $20 if paid by the end of the February meeting, $25 if paid after.   Go to the membership form page if you'd like to join Ozarks Writers League.
